Google Ventures investiert 4 Mil. USD in SCVNGR

Der Google-eigene Venture Capital-Fonds Google Ventures hat Ende Dezember 4 Millionen US-Dollar in das Start-Up SCVNGR investiert. SCVNGR ist ein rund ein Jahr altes Start-Up mit Sitz in Boston. Man bietet auf der Grundlage von Google Maps eine “Geo-Gaming”-Plattform an, bei jeder sein eigenes geo-basiertes Mobile Game entwickeln kann. Die Plattform ist in den letzten Monaten rapide gewachsen und mittlerweile wurde über 400 Anwendungen darauf entwickelt. SCVNGR agiert in einem interessanten Nischenmarkt. Google schiebt durch dieses Investment weitere Angebote für das mobile Internet an.
